Description:
From 1869 – 1992, Lobethal’s Onkaparinga Woollen Mills, were synonymous with the highest quality Australian blankets and materials. Artist Flossie Peitsch sketched the skilled workers at their beloved machines, soon to be parted. Also a weaver, Peitsch used the very fibres produced by the Mill to weave 54 tapestries. For the first time, these two significant bodies of art are exhibited together. Knitted and constructed installations are also displayed.
